Welcome to the Web site of David F. Fanning Numismatic Literature. We sell rare and out-of-print numismatic literature from all times and places. Our current inventory includes works on ancient, medieval and modern numismatics, including a wide variety of material on American numismatics. Items range from the 17th to the 21st century and come in over a dozen languages. We offer numismatic literature through three separate vehicles:
October 28 Auction
We are happy to announce that we are conducting our first auction, closing on October 28. The sale will include a wide variety of material on ancient, medieval, foreign and U.S. numismatics, and will feature a number of rare and important works. Click here for updated information.
Current Fixed Price Lists
Our current Fixed Price List of rare and out-of-print books, periodicals, auction catalogues and other publications is available for downloading here. The list features many rare and important works, as well as a selection of current and standard references. It also features historical documents and numismatic memorabilia.
We also publish a fixed price list devoted to inexpensive numismatic literature, The Basement. Here you can find books, periodicals and auction catalogues that, as useful as they may be, are neither rare nor expensive — and that the economics of cataloguing preclude from presentation in our more formal catalogues. Cataloguing for these items has been kept to a minimum, as have the prices. Check it out here.
Send us an e-mail if you would like to be notified upon the publication of new catalogues.
We hope to make this site a useful resource for collectors of numismatic literature and those who use such literature in their research. Check in with us as we develop this site and see what's new.
Thanks for visiting!
